Czech High Gothic in Models
The exhibition, located within the "Medieval Construction Machines" display, is the result of many years of work by experts and students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University (CTU). From a large collection of models of medieval buildings, those constructions initiated by Charles IV were selected.
On display are physical models of selected unique medieval buildings — both those still standing (though often rebuilt), and those that have not survived or were never actually realized.
The models were created by teachers and students of the Architecture and Building program at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTU in Prague, as part of the elective course "Architectural Models." Thanks to their work, models were created of such structures as the Church of Our Lady of the Snows in Prague in its completed form, the Chapel of Corpus Christi at the Cattle Market, the Cistercian monastery and Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Zbraslav, and others.
The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at CTU in Prague, Prof. Ing. Jiří Máca, CSc.
